Privacy Policy — EverythingTes

EverythingTes ("we," "us," "our") operates the website everythingtes.app (the "Site"). This policy explains what information we collect, how we use it, and the choices you have. By using the Site, you agree to this policy.

Information we collect

Account information. When you create an account, we collect your email address and the display name you choose. Your password is stored as a salted, one-way hash — we cannot see it or retrieve the original.

Content you create. Posts, comments, photos, likes, and wish list items you create on the Site, and any display preferences you set (such as your profanity filter setting).

Membership and payment information. Paid memberships are processed by Stripe, our payment processor. We store your membership status, Stripe customer and subscription references, and the end date of your current billing period. Your card details go directly to Stripe and are never stored on our servers; Stripe keeps the billing records.

Support messages. If you contact us through the Support page, we collect your message and, if you provide it, an email address for replying.

Technical information. Like most websites, we receive standard technical data when you visit: device and browser type, pages viewed, and similar usage information. We and our hosting provider use essential cookies and local browser storage to keep you signed in, remember your settings, and keep the Site secure. Some settings are also saved to your account so they follow you across devices.

How we use your information

• To operate the Site and your account, including community features and your wish list
• To provide paid membership benefits, including in-app deal notifications and early access
• To show you content according to your settings and preferences
• To moderate the community and enforce our Terms of Service
• To respond to support requests
• To understand how the Site is used so we can improve it

How information is shared

We do not sell your personal information. We share information only:

• With service providers who run parts of the Site for us (for example, hosting and Stripe for payments), under their own privacy terms
• With retailers you choose to visit. Many product links on the Site are affiliate links. When you click through to a retailer such as Amazon, that retailer may use cookies to attribute your purchase, under the retailer's own privacy policy. See our Affiliate Disclosure for details
• For legal reasons, if required by law, or to protect the rights, safety, or property of EverythingTes, our users, or the public
• Community content you post — including your display name, posts, comments, photos, and like counts — is visible to other visitors, including guests who are not signed in.
• Support messages are stored privately with their category, timestamp, and a hashed IP address used only for abuse prevention; they are not published.
• The Site's platform provider processes basic visit, referrer, performance, and error information to keep the Site running and secure. We do not use advertising trackers.

Your choices

• You can view and update your display name and preferences in Settings
• You can delete your own posts and comments at any time. To request deletion of your account and personal information, contact us through the Support page; we will remove your account information and delete or anonymize your community content as part of handling the request.
• You can browse much of the Site and save a wish list on your device without an account. An account is needed for synced wish lists, posting, commenting, liking, viewing the member directory, or becoming a member.

Children

The Site is not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13.

Data security

We use reasonable administrative and technical measures to protect your information. No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Changes to this policy

If we change this policy, we will update the "Last updated" date above and, for significant changes, note the change on the Site.
